Among the more interesting ones are positive correlation between 3S-hydroxysterols and TPM, smoke nicotine, tar, and leaf wax; between total polyphenols and TPM, petroleum ether extracts, and 3S-hydroxysterol; between wax and TPM, smoke nicotine, and tar; between leaf alkaloid level and wax, and petroleum ether extracts. Significant negative simple correlations were found between acetaldehyde or acrolein and 3Shydroxysterols, wax, and total alkaloids. Positive correlation between smoke TPM and wax, petroleum ether extracts and total alkaloids are also very significant.
