To set the sample point, hold down the Shift key (the Opt key on Mac) while clicking on the area with the Clone Stamp tool. A small gray cross displays and identifies the center of the sampled area. After setting the sample point, you can paint with the Clone Stamp tool as you would with the Paintbrush tool to draw the sampled area pixels anywhere on your canvas.
