Principles of Electrical Measurement

The sector of electric dimension maintains to develop, with new ideas built every year. From the fundamental thermocouple to state-of-the-art digital instrumentation, it's also turning into an more and more "digital" activity. Books that try and catch the cutting-edge in electric dimension are quick superseded.

An ADSR envelope generator using the SSM2050. (Courtesy ETI Magazine and Digisound, Ltd,) If CM OS level timing signals are used, S 1 is connected across the CMOS trigger and gate inputs to allow both ADSR (S1 closed) and AD (S 1 open) output contours. Manual gating is accomplished by adding a momentary-contact switch (S2) and resistor R21 to the manual gate input. If TTL timing signals are to be used, resistors Rll, R12, and R15 must be added to the circuitry. Also, S1 must be moved to the TTL gate and a push-tobreak switch should be connected between the TTL gate input and ground for a manual gate circuit.

A Duophonic Interface The circuit of Fig. 3-5 is a duophonic, 3-bus, keyboard interface that appeared in CFR Technotes. 2 Op amp A3 and transistor Q7 form a constant-current source much like the one in the circuit of Fig. 3-3. Op amp A5 buffers the level of the voltage on the bus. The wire from the voltage bus to A5 is shielded to eliminate any 60-Hz line noise from entering the circuit. The first voice gate signal originates from a separate keyboard bus. It turns on sample and hold FET Q8 whenever a key is down.
